To answer a few of the questions pouring in already:

We are aiming for this tournament to be hugely ambitious. There are going to be plenty of winners, due to the fact that this will not only be a singles championship but also have a complete separate bracket for doubles and one for team slayer as well. There will be separate prizes for each bracket.

So, even if you don't kick major ass on your own but you think your team can dominate any other group, you should still plan on participating.

Note that to avoid cheating, participants in both of the team brackets will be able to participate in the other, however only 1 participant from each team will be able to participate in the slayer/lonewolves bracket.

Everything will be played using Versus hardware. We will come down hard on cheaters or conspirors who are working together to boost each other up. Play honest, the prizes will be worth it.

There will be plenty more upcoming specific rules and regulations including the maps and weapons that will be used. As mentioned above, we are aiming to make this a unique tournament and there will also be other events going on (mini tournaments on Guitar Hero III for the Mjolnir mix Halo theme to name just one of them). So there will be something for everyone, even if you aren't the best actual Halo player.

We will update you soon with the rule set and final details on date, side events and prizes, so don't change the station.
